Jesus dude. I sure as hell hope you don’t handle numbers for a living. You know there’s a huge difference between 30% and 80% right?
You do the same thing with your reserve gas?
“Well. We’re only down to 45 minutes of reserve. Spirit off our left is down to 30 minutes. So it must not be that bad…..”

I hope you never lose your fancy legacy job, because critical thinking is not your strong suit.

If I understand, you pointed out how terrible ULCC is doing against the basked of stocks comprised of some of the biggest companies in the US. I pointed put that two legacy airlines' stock is performing horribly over the same time period, and your retort is they are different numbers?

So the latest/greatest in the industry is that people want (and will pay for) premium. That is ALL things premium.
From the SWA thread:
The premium thing legitimately does add appeal. I'm a UAL guy, and the difference between our old, clapped out 737-800s and A319s and the new, refreshed product is night and day. The ability to easily charge devices, fast/reliable wifi, and watching TV/movies easily is a big deal. Even in coach it significantly improves the experience in the back of the plane.
I have yet to see a first class seat unfilled. People want meals, booze and the ability to get some sleep and space to themselves. They're paying for the product, which is why UA/DL and Jetblue are doubling down on premium product offerings.
So how long does it take to order/install new seats and wifi???

Not sure, but its already most likely in the process at the emerald palace. The "middle row block" is some sort of test for a more premium option while they wait for new seats, and I bet the wifi is already being talked about since that is what we are starting to shift towards, the whole "business" customers and more legacy style routes instead of FL and Vegas.

But if we're going to be fastidious, it's proofreading, not spellchecking that was my downfall.

Between the upgrades, credit card deals, and businesses buying those seats, id be very surprised to see how many Joe schmoes actually spend full price on those things.
Also. Plenty of crew members who got them without extra.

Long story short, our airline is not a good value to travel currently. IMO too many delays and cancelled flights. Way too many. Somebody near the top should have been fired a while ago.
