It is possible to still purchase items (carry ons, checked bags, seats) a la carte if someone chooses. I think the premise here is it’s cheaper in most cases to purchase the bundle that fits what the passenger wants than the a la carte method.
Sounds good in theory, but in practice what will happen is people will still buy the cheapest fare with no add ons, and then argue with a GA over every additional fee. Status quo.

American and United. Now I refuse to travel on LCC's that charge for everything. I actually eliminate them in my search. I am probably paying 50$-100$ more, I could care less. I think the new pricing system will be a game changer.
Also, I could jumpseat for free and hate that hassle too.

Disagree, I was sucked into a low fare on once , never again. By the time I was done, it cost the same as

F9s low CASM has everything to do with outsourcing all labor except FAs, pilots and MX. Also no real presence in airports with gate appeal, customer lounges and an overall attempt to make phx feel welcomed. All of that will cost more and those low CASMs will creep up. Then F9 has to really start competing w/ UA,AA, DAL WN. I see $103 vs $129.
Most people will pick the $130 to have a better chance of getting somewhere on time with more options of time to travel and a less "we hate the customer" contract gate agent vibe.

Bottom line, as soon as labor costs increase, contractors become employees, etc stuff, costs will go up.
SWA saw this when Herb went to heaven and they decided to become just another major. Now, Frontier is headed in that direction.

And I have zero issues with this direction, as long as the other necessary changes/improvements are made. But if that doesn’t happen, we are hosed.

WNBA is using the VIP fleet of 757's that are owned by the NBA and operated/mx by Delta. According to ESPN, the $25Million nut was covered by the NBA for this season.
