Yeah, the pilot hiring across the industry has slowed a surprising amount. Numerous airlines said they are done hiring for the year.
Bubbles have a nasty tendency to pop. Unfortunately for us, our attrition is going to go way down.

cadets today received an email from BL about larger classes resuming soon. Not sure if that starts with August, or September, but I know of at least one cadet whose recruiter mentioned they were expecting a "larger" class for August.
let the new hires flow!

As of now I’ve heard August class cancelled and also a possibly conflicting 50 upgrades in the next bid. So…guess we will soon see.

Recruiters are telling cadets there will be a relatively large Aug class, meanwhile I know of at least one guy with a signed Aug CJO.. I'm kind of betting the intel on Aug is just carryover from the July cancellation. Also heard about the +50 CA stuff, seems excessive but would point to a big Aug new hire class.
Assuming 15 per plane we need to hire about 35 per class with 0 attrition Augst onward, or if August is cancelled about 45 per class. 2025, it'll basically be 40+ all year, 0 attrition.. Pretty excited to watch those CA upgrade times.

Have heard of both.. I think the Aug cancellation rumor is misplaced info regarding the July cancellation. F9 this year has confirmed classes and class sizes extremely last minute.

I agree and also assume that rumor is a mishear on somebodies part. Most likely another class of 50 and 20ish upgrades. I dunno. I regret spreading rumors without verification.

Classes should resume August, from what I have heard from a few LCAs, they got told it was because of the rebasing and sim availability and we should expect a lot of upgrades and new hires going forward.
Also, F9 has secured extensions on leases and spare engines for our 321neos which means we will only see about 4 planes down for mx at a time due to the engine issues out of the 24 currently effected. (This was in an email sent to LCAs from CD a few days ago, It was shared in my class group chat)
