Hearing 10 for June new hire class, 30 for July. Hiring looks to swing back up after July, would think based on delivery schedules and attrition classes of 40 (+/- 10) Aug - Dec.

I was just heading up to Denver for training. I ended up sitting next to a senior guy in the training department who is currently flying the line. He told me the classes are small right now because we are in the busy season and the instructors were told they need as many captains on the line to cover flying, which in turn creates less instuctors to handle new hires. He's been there for a while, so I don't see why he would lie, but idk.

FOs ask your Captains to see how much open time there is and ask how many hours they were awarded. 92 for me. You’ll be surprised to see the difference. I would agree based on that alone he was correct. It has certainly been that way historically too.

Barely any open time on the FO side, and tons of premium lately.

That being said, also moved down in seniority in base by 20% the last 4 months, so that feels good. not. I hope we start pumping in newhires and CA upgrades so we can get bases backfilled.

Probably because running a class of 10 is a waste of time.

Looks like AA stopped classes for the year. Attrition numbers will continue to improve for managements favor back to normalcy. Attrition at 5 so far this month.

UAL is full throttle on training filling July and August. Attrition will continue to be an issue.
