Default RTAG Information

Evening F9 Pilots and Aspiring FO Applicants -

I went to the RTAG convention and stopped by the F9 table BOTH days. I was able to get facetime with their top hiring person and talk with the pilots present. The information passed was hiring was resuming in October and classes in November and that competitive candidates would be just that...more competitive than the average applicant. I visited their booth on both days to affirm I was serious about joining the company. The second day paid off a bit, not to hang on a word, but they appreciated the facetime and said it would help make their decisions and to be on the lookout for an email or call in the next two weeks.

Look, I get it, the business has changed considerably at F9. There is definatly a need for a contract, and there are morale issues as a result of the managment decisions. However, for *somewhat* competitive military people like myself (not a helo bubba), there are good things about F9 which make it a target airline to fly for.

For what its worth,
v1

“Competitive”??? We literally hire 22 year old CFI’s and guys that have as minimal fixed wing time as possible.

I hope some others will join me in your regard for the helo guys. I come from a 100% civilian fixed wing background, but those "Helo Bubbas" are some of the best darn folks you'd ever have the privelidge of flying with, both in the cockpit,or on the road.

We definitely did but I doubt we will be hiring CFIs until this bottle neck of multiple issues in the industry are resolved. The people in the cadet programs are already getting picked off to join a class if they have higher experience based on what they're posting on their own reddit group. Maybe a few cadets with lower experience will get lucky if they've been in the program forever but otherwise I'm sure F9 has a large stack of regional FO applicants they can pull from.

Like virtually every other cadet program that's seen time on Earth, the rules seem to be changing. As someone else stated, I think they are going by experience now. I mean, there's plenty of them working turbine jobs now.. Why would they take a 0 turbine CFI cadet when they have cadets with 200-500 turbine time at Envoy?

Sucks for them in a way, but it's what these programs do. I'm thankful I got in. At least they still have offers. I think we're going to see the number of cadets admitted per class remain below 25% for the foreseeable future. Might even shrink.

In essence they might have something like UAA... Hit 1000 turbine to "flow" to an F9 class date.. Etc.

As for what's competitive, the recruiters told my friend he was competitive at 700/800 turbine, has some turbine PIC from the 135/91 world. YMMV.
