Company said today we’re planning to run classes of 10–20 for the next few months.

Ive read that for this and next on this forum. I will say it’s very odd to me to run two back to back classes of 60 and then two classes of 10. After the amount of premium that dumped for Mother’s Day it’s looking as if they are trying to run the ship too lean with their hiring plans but what else is new? Summer should be interesting.

Generally, I work more Nov-April and less May-Oct. Probably won’t be picking up much and dropping more. Plenty of people have kids off for the summer, boats to use, vacations to go on etc. Running lean going into summer seems about right for this place. Enjoy your premium summer y’all.

A class that starts now won't even hit OE until July, the next class August. So they're really little help to the summer operation. I'm guessing they want more instructors etc on the line.

And that’s in a perfect world. Spoke to an LCP last week, there’s January new hires still waiting for OE.

I can confirm this, one of my classmates starts this week I think. Jan Hire.

LCP's are also not being notified they are flying with somebody on IOE. IOE FOs are also getting paired with non-LCPs. It's happened more than once in my group. Make that make sense.

That's why they ran the big classes already.

They're actually doing a pretty good job keeping pace. March new hires are going through IOE starting in about a week. They will start finishing up just in time for us April new hires to get going. About a 2-3 week wait on IOE.. Gonna guess the Jan guys are doing it in base in Miami or a small base that is known for long delays. SJU guys don't have that problem because we currently do not have LCPs to fly with so it's done system wide.

Still told 10 for May, 10 for June, and about 10-20 for July and/or August before it opens back up in the fall.

Geeze thats terrible. That won't even keep up with attrition. We have 7 more planes coming by the end of august which takes over 100 additional pilots to staff. Meanwhile our seniority list shrinks. Perfect planning.
