AFAIK this has been offered in the past? Seems like a non event/union busting tactic.
I really can't believe it is extremely significant, we have a good bit of open time, low reserves and premium popping up that is going cancelled because no one picks it up on the FO side.

I didn't see how many colas were being offered but I bet every one of them is taken. If you can afford to take a month without pay, it's pretty cool. Go to Australia or something. Remodel the house...
Clearly they are reducing the block hours in Sept to try and get the train put back on the tracks. Watch the on time performance in Sept get good again and then they will add a ton of flights in Nov and the operation will fall apart again

Personally given the industry currently I would apply everywhere and see what you can get. It’s not looking like we will be having huge classes. I know there’s a pretty big backlog of guys waiting from CJOs that were given last year. I know that’s not what you want to hear but the longer you wait the farther down the seniority list you will be. I’d apply at a regional that is wholly owned that you don’t really care to work for on the legacy side that’ll make your life easier if you want to jump to the competitor. Or you can wait. To each their own. But just seeing how the slow down has been hard to say when we will be getting through our list of CJOs that have been waiting.

There have been many times in the past they have offered one month, unpaid leaves. It's an easy way to cut cost during low travel/ block hours times.

So the COLAs will likely be a short term, optional only option? Relatively new hire here, just trying to confirm the sky is in fact not falling..

sky isn’t falling. It’s not completely uncommon. Fall is typically slow and when you have a group like the fo’s here who pick up every scrap they can they don’t need as many. Barry sends his thanks to those types.

I'm currently at a wholly owned regional and I've thought about staying but I'm looking to leave because our pay rates aren't in the contract so instead of working for a company that is fighting to keep it's pay when the LOA runs out, I'd rather be somewhere that's fighting for more pay.
