You do realize most of the data those articles are discussing is irrelevant since none of the employees will be f9 correct? This management will use existing contract labor that we’re using now. It’s not like they’ll actually go out and hire a bunch more employees. I’m not saying we’re opening a base there but literally every airline except us and nk have one and a few have multiple ca bases.

these articles are nearly useless for people who don’t rely on minimum wage. How about something for tax burden per state?

California has the highest individual income tax burden, while seven states (including Texas, Florida, and Washington) have the lowest.

1. Contact labor is not free. Just because they don't get a paycheck that says "Frontier" on it does not mean it does not cost us money. Barry and company (as we know) will not even crack the lid of the coffee can to whiff the beans, much less drink the coffee, if the cost model does not make sense.

2. AA is closing their SFO base. "Other airlines" having bases there is not = other airlines love having bases there. No major airline, by DOT standards, has OPENED a California base in many many years. SWA opened Oakland in ??? 1994. Avelo is opening a base at Sonoma County Airport, whether it works for them is yet to be seen.

American closed a sfo fa base. They did that to comply with laws that no longer exist and to some extent make a fa lawsuit go away. I do tend to agree with you based on how cheap these guys are. However San is building an entire new terminal and lax is adding a bunch of gates. And they need them based on loads. Someone is getting paid to load airplanes and deal with pax.

Can’t believe JetBlue is stepping on our toes in SJU right after we stepped on theirs. The nerve.
