Like I said “market conditions ‘no longer’ support a ULCC”. There’s also the massively protective Forward Looking Statement ever SEC company puts out with every bit of public info. It would be a piece of cake to swivel because their duty is to the shareholder and be adaptive to market change.

Actually no. It is their duty to make business decisions that absorb and even profit from the change in the market. That is why Barry and gang get multi-million dollar salaries, and stock options. To do their job.

Their stock ticker is ULCC for Christ sake.

Good luck with that one

Dude, I’m talking about a 3 way hookup with B6 and NK with the ultimate goal of ditching the ULCC model. Where does it say they are obligated to use ULCC in perpetuity with the sole purpose of driving our business model?? They could even pick a brand NEW one post merger! Wow, what a crazy idea. Another crazy idea, Biffle could change our ticker tomorrow if he wanted to anything he wants. Shocking, I know. He could change it to DUDE and it would still be a meaningless symbol.

Who knows what Franke is thinking long term, but he’s no dummy, that’s for sure. One of the few people who’ve made a fortune in the airline business. 100% pure speculation on my part: he’d do a 3 way hookup, take the B6 model and ditch the ULCC. Regardless, he’ll do whatever he needs to do to make the most money and feed Indigo Partners.

Are we talking about buying not one but TWO airlines now? After a judge just blocked the NK/JB over apparently one overlapping route.

Yeah, I’m sure that SLI is going to be fun…..

Btw, is Frankie still buying American Airlines debt for our inevitable merger? That was the rumor anyways.

A three way merger, yes. Judge blocked the merger not because of overlapping routes but rather B6 specifically told the judge they would eliminate a ULCC, continue with the B6 model and raise prices.

SLI would be a nightmare for us but executives could care less.

Indigo has money, but not that kinda money to buy AA debt. Silly rumor.

I think we're in fantasy land. That's why you have to cycle the IRs before each crew change.

I can't imagine that F9 will be allowed to do much except status quo given that JB/NK merger fail. NK is done; P&W took care of that. Only potential savior would be some HUGE infusion of cash (from someone OTHER than Indigo as no NK pilot is gonna work for Franke again). In fact, I'd be suprised if all NK pilots weren't updating their apps.

JB has cash but same problems as before the NEA started. I wonder if they can start that back up again.

Being the ONLY ULCC isn't as good as everyone thought initially. Can't merge w/ anyone (same reasons JB/NK couldn't), can't grow due to sucking and don't have the management intelligenc to properly compete. Plus, they have a gate acquisition problem to boot.

It's basically all up to the economy (consumer desires) now. Wonder what that will look like circa 2026?

Looks like the party is over here. No merger in sight. And all the young hero’s came in and saved the day, that pipeline never dries up. We had a good run everyone!
