You may not like hearing it but it’s true. There’s a reason two of our MEC chairman’s left for United. We have the strike vote coming out we will all do our part but we have zero leverage.

Leverage will come from the RLA process. The company can only **** off the mediator and NMB for so long with there stall tactics and bad faith negotiating. Eventually we will get released for self help.

No.

Unfortunately people like you were given the false belief that we were going to get a new contract in 6-12 months. The reality is this was going to take just as long, if not longer, than our legacy counterparts. 4+ years

As the previous poster said there’s a process. And we are only starting.

Barry gambled and won. That’s all there is to it. It would have been a fast contract. We can thank Boeing and a shift in the legacies to try and drive us out. Among a few other things. Had hiring by the big 4 continued as it should have we would have had a TA by now. Current conditions have bought Barry and franke a little time. Of course the failed JB-NK merger is playing into it. Why give us a contract now, if they will have to go through it again with a JCBA once it’s announced we’re making a play on NK again.

Agreed.

Dont take Frontiers contract technique personal Bluesky. It’s just business. Barry’s philosophy is to keep costs as low as possible as long as possible. Handing a few 100M a year over to the pilots doesn’t exactly help that philosophy but it will be done eventually. Those that left have all had their reasons. Some for the money, some for the benefits, some just wanted to be home based. All we can do is thank them for the seniority bump and wish them the best.

Barry didn’t gamble anything. Keep living that fantasy.

What does this even mean? F9 has a full hiring pipeline amidst an industry-wide pilot hiring slowdown that seems to be sticking for longer than many thought ( see just the latest development, the Boeing strike and consequent slowdown in Max deliveries). Call it a gamble or not, but it is what it is.

Kirby keeps carping about how cost convergence is going to kill low cost carriers (meanwhile our “DAL rates or better!” crowd seems intent on fulfilling his fantasy), but for now at least we ain’t seeing as much of the cost convergence as others in the ULCC/LCC space.

the only thing Barry gambled on was not giving a single cent a single second sooner than he had to. And if he could drag it out and offer the pilot group less he would. Thats just the nature of the beast. F9 isn’t unique in that regard. God knows why the union said we could’ve had a contract as early as January 2024

As for the other nonsense you spoke about being paid less because Kirby says so (and let’s not forget all the other areas of the contract we are deficient in) you vote however you want. If you feel this model is only worth 75% than you have your vote when the time comes.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. If you believe the model is dead, or not worth what everyone else is worth, than why bother staying? You’re leaving millions on the table, or worse being out of a job.

I actually was the guy preaching to my FOs this contract would take years. I’m leaving after 9 years here so no more dog in the fight. I hope the NC brings something solid for you guys when it eventually happens.

Baldanza leaving the JB board and Menke replacing him. Was he good/bad during the time at F9?
