Do you think there’s an opportunity for consolidation in the space?

“I don’t know. We just saw Hawaiian and JetBlue. I think it almost done. We’ll see.”

But, but that’s not on the ULCC side.

“Oh. Well I guess there could be. We’ll see.”

I also heard that and found it interesting. Not his usual “we’re only focused on us” answer.

Unless it’s a Freudian slip!

ah. Freudian slip. I see what you mean. I thought this sentence was peculiar. I’ve been re-listening to it. I also found his inflections a bid out of the normal.

For even further wild speculation he said that, and I'm paraphrasing, "the US has too many narrowbodies and not enough widebodies. Wide body margins are much higher than narrowbody margins right now." It makes me wonder if they didn't cancel the XLR's because if they are ever going to cross the pond, it would be more profitable in a wide body like a 330 or 350. Just wishful thinking on my part but he was the one saying widebodies are killing it right now.

some observations

BB makes a claim at 15:11 that there is "no reason" Frontier cannot get back to "Pre-Pandemic" margins and that is "Job number-1" (getting margins back).

Also documented at Aviation Week: https://aviationweek.com/air-transpo...ndemic-margins

At 17:10, admits/states that Frontier is not stealing any Big-3 business customers

28:35, pilot hiring stopped elsewhere is a "good thing".

Summary: Not sure if my confidence is more, or less, that a contract will be done soon.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that we will get a contract when we go through all the RLA steps, it's dragged on as long as possible, get as close to a strike as the govt will allow, and they finally say f it just get it done. Doesn't matter if there is attrition, recession, booming economy, etc. Probably about 2 years from now. Hope I'm wrong.
