Although we have the Barry/Franke factor we also have something going for us the rest didn't....pilots will always go to a Legacy, SWA, even Alaska/JB depending on where they live. They are already seeing strains in the training department. Failures up, 100 plus hours of OE.

Negotiations were paused for about a year…May 2020ish to around May 2021. Filed for federal mediation in 2022

Barry has said "staffing is fine"

I am sure he brings that to the negotiating table

Classes are currently full. We are mostly staffed. So he's not totally wrong this time. But I think things will change here pretty soon.

I don't see us ever not being able to fill a class. We are drawing from the same pool as EVERY regional and I don't see many people choosing a regional over us. It's the expense of wasted training dollars (turnover) that is likely to be our leverage.

Assuming we turn things around to consistent profitability, we are not going to turn away airplanes. More planes = more revenue = more profit...if attrition rates outpace our ability to get butts in seats we will get a contract.

Southwest just got a 30 percent raise . If you’re getting displaced out of Vegas there’s an option .

Lots of goodies in there at first glance. I’m pretty happy all of these contracts in the last year have come through. It has set the economic minimum we should receive pretty much in stone.

This is exactly correct. From a staffing level they are running as a regional with airbuses. They have absolutely no intention of negotiating in good faith and the NMB allows for that. 3+ years for a contract, and it will likely be sub-par.

I'm just clarifying who the "we" is you're griping at? I don't know ANY F9 pilots who agree that Allegiant is a relevant reference point.

Who is the "we" that you are saying needs to "act" like SW is the peer group? Are you mad at the union? Mad at the pilot group? Your language is objectively vague, and your post is utterly nonsensical.

The fact is we most likely agree on the sentiment. I'm just questioning why you are annoyed at the union/pilot group for not "acting like" they deserve a literally just announced/rumored and unconfirmed SW contract? You didn't really make any intelligible point.

If you said, "hey, this should be our target," then great, I hope you guys achieve that. That's not what you said though.

I hope F9 pilots can achieve a contract akin to the rumored Southwest contract.
I think you’re misunderstanding me here. I think if anything we agree.

I don’t think anyone believes we’re second rate to anyone else. But, nobody believes we’ll get anything that exceed the legacies.
Most people will tell you historically we have been Spirit+/-1. Spirit was historically our peer group. Now that they’re gone it’s going to be G7. F9 has never lead the way in any contract negotiations, when the company offers us Spirit/Allegiant +1 we’ll vote yes on the first offer because it’s better than what we have now. And then you’ll hear “that’s exactly what happened last time”.
If you want Delta rates, go to Delta. If you wanna be treated like Delta go to Delta. We’re a regional that flies Airbus. The Walmart of the sky.

Thats generally what I hear people say on the line, on Facebook, and APC.
Unless you and I work at two different companies, and are reading two different forums, I generally hear when this is all over with we’ll still be behind everyone else and we still won’t have an industry leading contract.
