I agree with the last few posts. I think day turns can work, it's somewhat of a coincidence that our little summer melt down and day turns came about at the same time.

I think that they tried to capitalize on the summer travel season and built a schedule that wasn't feasible with our lack of ground suppprt. With the reduction in flying in August I'm sure our metrics will improve and the day turns with mostly stick around. The money they are saving on hotel costs is real.

I always said that day turns will never work unless we are staffed properly above/below wing. But the important thing is there are routes we just cant do without overnights and I think sitting around 50-60% day trips instead of gunning for 90%+ would be a much better option, yeah you do save hotel costs. But we also need more efficient trips. I am so sick of this 5hr turn stuff. Toss another leg in there are let us all fly 6-7hrs a day and cover more flying with less crews.

BB for sure. No love for BL but I think it's a waste of time to complain to him about things he's not responsible for. How about take that energy and fill out some reports, that is the proper avenue to get the issue in front of someone with actual written facts and the ability to make changes.

I do a lot of 7+ hour 4 legs, it doesn't usually go well.

Thats why I think 3 is ideal. It also really depends on start times, a lot of my cancelled flying is from a 6-8hr flight that starts super early with only a 10hr duty window....

I did plenty of 6 leg days at my regional and we always were 99%+ completion. Which we all know is because whatever happens on the ground here at F9 is the real issue.

1. Again, if rampers don't exist in the first place, or are too busy to get off TikTok in the break room and meet an airplane, it is not the "One Day model" that is not working.

2. Menzies contract falls under "Airport Services" or a similar department. The last time a Denver HQ corporate type was in MCO or ATL, auditing ramper and gate agents?

The issue is we are severely gate limited almost everywhere we fly. They only allow 15m on either end of the scheduled flight. Thing domino very easily. I also feel the reduced the block on flights as it's nearly impossible to make up any time. Probably did that so they can jam four legs into a duty day.
