To let people do more research on moving to such an extreme location since there isn’t a new class to dictate rushing between bids? No idea.
I did recently hear the next two classes will be 60 each and then another break between classes. Pending attrition that could fill all of the new bases over the next two months. Should be an interesting year in the industry.

That statement was in the initial bid too.

Growing airline and we are apparently the fastest upgrades and best paid still, according to the recruiting posters.

I don’t look at the recruiting posters and don’t really care what they claim. All I care about it’s what is happening. Happy about the location of the upgrade or not the upgrade time has steadily decreased.
Yes we only grew by about 100 in the last year. But we grew by 300 the year before which was way too much. Depending on how big they think we need to be for the day trips we will need about 300 again this year. If two more classes of 60 show in the next two months we are already half way there by April. (Not including attrition) As to your captain claim of no upgrades, of the 130 we grew last year the captain SL grew by 100 and the FOs grew by 30. Some will take the upgrade that others have given back for net zero.
Just so we’re clear the displacements have hurt me same as most so I’m not just drinking F9 koolaid over here. LAS shrinking moved my upgrade time from any moment now to He11 if I know over night.

CBA section 6.d.6.
Essentially says for any base outside of the Lower 48 Company + ALPA need to re-negotiate the moving benifets. My guess would be that not to many people are jumping on the TJSJ band wagon, and the company wants to give any fence sitters some time to think about it. Hopping they will not need to negotiate.
I looked at it my self (briefly)as potentually I could be forced there, I might be able to avoid paying TJSJ/PR taxes, The fedral taxes won't change so long as F9 is HQd in the Lower 48. Getting a Car out there is a can of worms. Not to bad if you heve people out there ,but with no foot hold it will not be a cheap move.
