There has always been a lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Flights are flying empty all over the country... Reference the TSA passenger numbers, many many days below 2 million total pax for the first time.

Is that why Frontier planes are half-empty?
walked past a big-3 gate, it was a sh1t-show, standing room only
I guess those 1.999 million PAX are not on Frontier ?

I’m sure this is an intra-holiday lull, but none of us know any better than last quarter’s guidance in terms of what Q4 will end up looking like.

FWIW, since we are throwing out random observations that have little meaning... all 7 of our MCO - PHL flights today are jam packed full. American has anywhere from 20-40 open on each of theirs.

You say that like every single one of our flights are half empty, while the big-3 have 100% load factors. That is hardly the truth.

Well while we’re basing this discussion on random anecdotal data, loads on my flights have been pretty decent. Who knows what the tickets are going for.

Ya seriously. Just because a flight is full doesn’t mean it’s making money and the inverse is also true. I have the same talk with flight attendants all the time who don’t understand why we cancelled *insert random route* since it was full all the time. We just don’t know the profit on a route. There’s so many factors.
My guess is most airlines are doing just fine with the cancellation rate being low and the fuel prices decreasing. Might even squeak out a surprise profit this quarter. I’m also guessing that’s why stock prices have done well across the board over the past month.

Point received, and made.
at the end of the day, the flight load is a result of the marketing, corporate, management team and "brand reputation" that the public has. Not our [Pilots] "fault" if a plane is empty.
It is not JAX Center's fault either.
As someone said, a full flight may not even turn a profit. (Note to self: I doubt an empty one does...)
Happy Sunday
