When I was in systems late last year there was a big celebration that we just passed 2,000 pilots. I remember it very clearly. Where are we now? 2,000 pilots. Hundreds of pilots churned through training since then just to stay at the exact same number. What a colossal goat rope and waste of training resources. I can’t imagine a very high morale in the training department knowing your efforts are being used as a bilge pump that’s just barely keeping up. They are reducing the number of pilots per class because of an overloaded training department. So, we can expect to go below 2,000 pilots. Simply unacceptable. Leadership has to change.
It's also because of our contract and where we are in the contract cycle compared to the other airlines. It's good for us. It's pressure on the company to deliver pay raises to us.

giving Barry accolades for making money this Q2 is like thanking the mail man for delivering your mail to the correct address.

I’ve never known a CEO with such overt disdain for the client. “I don’t care what kind of service they get because they will be back when they need a cheap ticket.”
Demoralizing and not sustainable in my opinion.

I'm just trying to keep some perspective and fairness on this forum. It's been a lot of doom and gloom here lately. I was simply pointing out that the airline has been making money

I just read in WSJ that Barry wants to cut more frills. What’s left? No more seats for the pax?

I’m going to have to assume something was taken out of context. There are no frills left. Zero.

Theres still padding on the seats. Tray tables. Space under your seat to place a carry on. Public bathrooms. Arm rests. Flotation devices. Many more. You just have to look carefully. See. That’s why you’re not a CEO

The point is Barry seems to have no ability to look inward and spend money to make money. He’s punishing passengers and crew because he feels he’s doing everything right and he still doesn’t see the margins that he wants.

The issue isn't the model, it's the the way its implemented. Sooner or later, customer service HAS to be considered. People won't fly your sh!tty airline forever no matter how cheap the tickets are. SWA started out a LCC - people laughed. Pilots ridiculed other pilots who went there. But they built up a very loyal customer base through "down home" customer service. They are no longer low cost anything but continue to have load factors that sustain them.
It's not hard...
