Should really rename this thread Contract 2030, because that's a more realistic timeline. They just elected the same clowns that gave us our current sub par contract. They got completely snowed over by the company in the last set of negotiations, this round will be no different. Wide body rates? Baaaahahahahaha. Only idiots would have wasted their time and energy negotiating on that section. Remember how the VAST majority of the pilot group and the MEC were pounding their fists, no pref bid? How'd that go? Nothing changes if nothing changes. I fully expect many years of negotiations with little gains and multiple givebacks/losses in the process. We will not get a contract till we have zero applicants and nobody in the pool, just like last time.
They cannot afford to have this take a long time. We shouldn't have to give anything up. I know of at least 20 people I have talked to who are basically waiting to see what happens with this contract to decide if they jump ship or not. These are just people I have personally heard it from, I am sure about 40% of the seniority list will leave if the contract is subpar, along with any hopes of getting any new people who are not fresh out of flight school.
I am having high hopes that they will come to the table with a good contract and hopefully we can get this ship turned in the right direction. Especially since they want to grow as much as they do.

Once a negotiating committee tells the pilot group it’s the best deal they can get, negotiations are over as far as the company is concerned. The only option is to do what the United pilots did.

Let's not forget it's the same two clowns whose signature are on LOA 4. Probably the worst LOA in our history. Maybe in airline history....
You hit the nail on the head. By far the majority of people I fly with feel the same way. I am absolutely astonished that anyone associated with our last contract is in office as we head into negotiations.

it’s your union telling pilots to leave.
It’s your union that doesn’t want people coming in the door.
It’s your union that doesn’t want 1000/1500 ATP, CFI, Embry Riddle, etc.
I was just pointing out to him if it’s that bad (7 years to a contract) he’d be better off leaving. Isn’t that what your union wants?

It’s your union that needs attrition for leverage.
