Not sure if its been discussed on here yet or not or if we even want to use any of our negotiation capital towards it, but does anyone else think our commuting policy needs some new language? The two flight rule I completely understand but for both to arrive 1 hour before show time seems excessive. I commute out of a non hub city so sometimes for me to arrive legally for a mid afternoon show requires a 6-7 am departure for a 45 min flight in the same time zone.... was talking to a DA guy the other day that says their contract says something along the lines of "2 flights that arrive with adequate time". Dropping the 1 hour rule would help out a lot of guys I think. I've seen cases where it would have changed my commute by several hours only because one of my two options blocked in a few mins inside that one hour. Again, not saying this needs to be any focus but wondering if any others had a thought on this....

It does... I also wanna see reserve B opened back up to bidding each month like it used to be. % of trips 3/4 day as well.

Absolutely we need to address the commuting policy! More and more of us are commuting and some relief would be nice.

I'd love an "adequate time" clause, but I'd settle for 15 minutes that we had at my regional.

There need to be some commuter hotels provided as well, to address the atrocious and rapid change to mostly one-and two-day pairings. Commuters have absolutely taken it on the chin the past year - many becoming commuters due to management decisions regarding bases and displacements. There must be some compensation for this change in status-quo.

One thing NOT being mentioned that much here are these sh1tty pairings. We need to bring MOT back and require a minimum # and type of pairings available in open time on the 13th. With PBS, only the senior get decent pairings and there's no real way to improve your line if you're not.

I'm for this as well.

I'm not for commuter hotels (or at least would allocate ZERO bargaining resources toward this).

Definitely better wording with a company that values their pilot group. Not sure I would want to see their interpretation of adequate time.

Yeah, commuter hotels are something that you can bargain towards... or just bargain towards better pairings and more 3-4 days instead. Get the same result but better. I dont want anything wasted towards commuter hotels.

Should really rename this thread Contract 2030, because that's a more realistic timeline. They just elected the same clowns that gave us our current sub par contract. They got completely snowed over by the company in the last set of negotiations, this round will be no different. Wide body rates? Baaaahahahahaha. Only idiots would have wasted their time and energy negotiating on that section. Remember how the VAST majority of the pilot group and the MEC were pounding their fists, no pref bid? How'd that go? Nothing changes if nothing changes. I fully expect many years of negotiations with little gains and multiple givebacks/losses in the process. We will not get a contract till we have zero applicants and nobody in the pool, just like last time.
