The premium system is unfair, but I don’t think it’s a priority for the one premium trip that pops up every full moon. We have a lot more important items on the list. We should focus on working less making more instead of the other way around.(over 82, premium etc.)

Current premium benefits neither senior, Jr., those in the middle, Hard workers, or those not so hard working
Who it benefits at this point is questionable.
What about disbanding the premium system and just expanding the 125% after 82 hr system? 150-% after 82 or something?.

no but seriously, there needs to be something done about it. Premium sounds nice, but there is never any of it. The over 82 sounds nice, but you have to work hard for it. Id rather just take flat higher rates and lose the over 82 and keep premium.

Yes higher pay rates, and improved soft pay. Day off begins at 1201 for everything else in our life not 2 am. We need 321, red eye and intl overrides. Min day…. not min duty day at least 6 hours. 15 days off for reserves and mmg 82 hours like WN. Premium isn’t going anywhere bl has come into our rgs raging how much he loves it.

Swap out over 82 for a min day (and it's calendar date) of 5:15. Premium stays exactly like it is.
And better rates solves lots of issues - everyone is happier working here and everyone will want to come here. Recruiting/retention is probably 75% rates and 25% other things.

I agree.

I can see the union getting their hands on trip pairings and having some sort of min 10% of each 4/3/2/1 day trips to help solve many of the issues we are seeing. Hopefully that would solve our 10 hour 3 day and min duty vs calendar day issues, issues with trip commutability, soft time, circadian clock, efficiency…just overall QOL while flying.

If a company is being run properly premium shouldn’t exist. It’s just a mechanism for failure. It should certainly never be a selling point as if it is some sort of guarantee we all get. It should not have any bearing on rates since it should technically never happen. But that also means the argument that it should be 200% or more to start shouldn’t be a deal breaker either because again, if you (management) run the company properly 0% of pilots will get premium.
