that’s not normally added in till after the first week of the bid period but there’s no contractual date for it to be done. It’s placed on the first day off on your schedule that’s already happened so there’s no block in flica for adding a trip. That’s why it’s delayed so everyone has had a chance at a day off first. Same with any rig for under 75 built lines. I’m still waiting on my May rig to show up.

They put more time in OT than you do. Plain and simple.

I have no issues at all for having the restoration of some form of the mini-daily open time (we can call it monthly open time to appease certain people) so that people who are awarded hard lines have a last chance to make small adjustments to their schedule before open time goes to the masses. But, once that closes out and flying starts hitting the daily open time throughout the month, it is not owned by or owed to anyone. Regardless of seniority. There shouldn't be any lockout and should remain first come first serve. Just like in life, there are winners and there are losers. Some people are better at the open time game than others and the rules of the game shouldn't bend to accommodate more senior people who aren't great at the game.
The "seniority" argument is a poor one when it comes to reserves being able to pick up open time as it's working off the assumption that someone on reserve MUST be junior. There's plenty of reasonably senior people bidding reserve right now. Especially FDO lines. They bid FDO lines knowing they'll likely be used very little, fill in their time off with added flying, barely get used on their days on and finish the month out with 100+ credit after having only worked a handful of days. So, using the seniority argument, NOT allowing a senior person (who happens to bid reserve) to pick up open time so that a more junior person who bid a hard line can have first dibs on the open time is, in and of itself, circumventing seniority. Should there be a one minute lockout per seniority position?: Most senior person in base has no lockout, second most senior has a one minute lock, third most senior has a two minute lock, etc.? If you think that sounds ridiculous, then your argument isn't truly about making sure that seniority is honored with open time.
IF reserve pilots were a different "class" of pilot, like if someone was hired to purely be a part time reserve only pilot, then sure. I could see the argument. But a seniority list pilot, is a seniority list pilot in the real world. Regardless of schedule type. This is just another case of the senior trying to eat their young... And I say this as someone with seniority in seat who has no desire to eat the list below me.

You could always bid reserve and pickup just like reserves. I’d suggest doing that or quit complaining because it’ll be like this for the next several year.

Living in base on reserve picking up 3/4 days of flying crediting 95 hours with 30/40 block for the month is the best there is.
Being used all the time for everything everyone else drops ... Not so much 😁

Bid reserve and do it if you think they’re getting such a sweet deal.

I skipped a few pages, but really?
You guys mostly just don’t understand PBS. It the nature of PBS to not have the best trips left over in open time. Reserve guys picking up everything? I doubt the percentage is that high compared to how many guys are actually on reserve. You think reserve guys have it good? BID IT! It’s still going junior last I checked
