Was at F9 till 2006 and left for major cargo company. Chief pilot said I was crazy being Id be a Capt in yr. Well you know rest of story. Made 1.3 mill more over staying at F9 plus b fund and pension. The guys that stayed still think it was a smart move. Id bet any of big six is better bet. F9 still held by private investment corp.

The legacies at the time (2006) were sucking hind tit.

New to 121... PHL based, looking to stay that way for the foreseeable future. Is it a good move to try for Frontier vs sticking with the regional (with a decent contract) and upgrading and waiting for a legacy to call? Is the PIC time worth that much more? Are people generally happy working for Frontier?
I think you can make a fine career at Frontier, but again don't worry about it so much until the time comes to decide. There's a couple sayings I'm reminded of:
In the planning stage of the book, don't plan the ending.
and
Life is what happens to us when we we are making other plans.
Point being you plan the best you can, but a lot of your path through your airline career will be luck and your personal risk tolerance.

With all the emphasis on "being a good fit" can anyone paint the picture of what that actually means? What makes Frontier a good "forever airline" for one qualified person over another qualified person? What is the long bet that a committed pilot group is making at F9? What is the company's strategy? These are sincere questions I have as I contemplate my future so appreciate if anyone can sort of fill in the blanks.
