The question is whether they value the cadets or not. Let's say they have 40 per class. Let's say they allocate 10 slots to cadet hires per class. Let's say I'm #50 on the cadet list. That means I'm waiting 5 classes to get my foot in the door.

It's impossible to know where I fall on there, but in October they sent me an official offer with a date of march 19th. I don't know how that's going to change post-Feb cancellation. That's what is killing me. Maybe over the top, but all I can think about is receiving a phone call or email in April that the program is dissolving and I'm being released from the program and CJO.
Your asking for sympathy from pilots your working against to some extent by providing leverage to management. Just let that sink in.

The company dissolving the cadet program will not happen, they can lock you in for longer since you guys generally have little to no turbine time.
Fair.

Little desperate? Quite possibly. My personal living situation is not sustainable and im on borrowed time, original jan/feb class date was a nice ticket out of that. Since I'm waiting on class date, I can't take a job that would pay more or I have to give up the CJO. I'm sure it'll all work out but it's just a tad bit stressful being in the dark.

Entitled? Don't mean to come across that way. I'm not asking to be placed #1, I'm just hoping to know our fate sometime soon. Any clarity would be nice.

If you have readings to recommend, I'd love to hear about it. So far, I've been poking through The Turbine Pilot's Manual and Flying the Line.

Your only value to F9 is leverage for management to avoid signing an industry standard CBA. Once that CBA is signed, the Cadet program will be disolved.

Untill then, non Cadets will be mopped up and given class dates while they meter a few of you Cadets into each class. They know you don't have the experience to go anywhere else so you will be in a holding pin for insurance.

As others have said it’s managements golden ticket to staffing. It’s not going anywhere. It’s just a matter of time. Embrace the soap opera of Frontier and this whole game becomes much more enjoyable.

Last call 800+ and expected to be the majority of the hires going forward.

I’ll probably get bashed for this but….

Is it in bad taste for ALPA to make ads and ask the cadets to not come here? I’m not trying to be mean or harsh, but it looks like what they’re doing (not on purpose of course) is delaying and hindering our chance to get a industry standard contract sometime soon.

Through class delays and the base changes, Frontier is causing a number of cadets with over 1500 to go elsewhere. The majority of people I interviewed with were midlde aged professionals(engineers, active jet pilots, etc.) with ATP minimums, so not a group that did not have options. If the wait is 9-12 months after meeting ATP minimums, my guess is about 50% will find employment elsewhere, especially if the regionals pick up hiring again.

Nope. I don't think it would be in bad taste at all. As a matter of fact, I expect this to happen in the future. These cadets and new hires are 100% the reason it will take so long to get a contract. The only legal leverage we have is if they have a hard time filling classes.

Sorry, but no sympathy here. The entire cadet program was designed to take away leverage from current pilots on property. Now you are feeling a little pain from delayed class dates. Boo Hoo.
