Hey all, I have my ATP CTP and Type scheduled a few weeks out. Is it worth it to pay for 1StepPrep A320 course?

IMO….no. “Cooperate to graduate”. Study the materials they send you as it will cover everything you need. Any outside prep could introduce conflicting procedures/limitations and confusion.

smartcockpit.com has some systems pdfs. There’s def some differences. But differences is what Airbus is all about. That’s the hardest part
(what this tail number has vs. what another tail number has.)

So if you wanna read some stuff (I.e flight control laws) you can go there.

I wouldn’t memorize any numbers or limitations or mem items unless you got them from F9. But if you’re looking to come in with a little more info on the aircraft I’d start there.

I used 1step. I personally really liked the approach and video style.

Thank you all. On that same note, I'm currently studying the CPaT online systems before my Type. There is so much minutiae which I am not sure will be immediately tested on during the oral. If anyone can speak of their recent (or past) experience, that would be great. It seems that maybe 1StepPrep is more geared for the oral/type, whereas CPaT just puts it all the information out there (no matter how relevant that will be).

They will tell you in ground school what you need to know for the oral, and you will as a class do a mock oral so you know where you are at. As long as you go in showing you studied you will not have an issue. The examiners are really good about making it a conversation and teaching while they're at it vs just firing off asking questions. I had a really great experience and people in my class also had good feedback. Follow what they tell you to study and you'll be fine.

If you’re curious as to what’s on the frontier oral I can only speak to that, but our ground school instructor was amazing in making sure we were prepared and knew what to expect. The APDs differ slightly in what they ask but I think most every one does every single bold limitiation, every single memory item, every single light and switch (mine did the one below the glareshield), and vol I stuff you need to know on the line. If you know that down cold, you will pass no problem.
