Hiring / training

If you can get a ride, or Uber, there’s Costco and Walmart and King Soopers (local brand of Kroger) in a nearby radius. I got delivery from the latter grocery store. $35 minimum in the cart, plus $10 instacart fee. Since the fridge wasn’t very large and limited space to store/prep non-refrigerated food. So I’d do a weekly order of things. I’m not really a breakfast person so I skipped that anyway. The HQ and the Airbus facility have one of those unmanned kiosks with a small assortment of “fresh” foods. Salad, wraps, sandwiches. Not replenished daily, so that’s the only caveat to that option.

Training, much like most other areas of the flying operation (to include safety) relies VERY HEAVILY on just having good people doing the work. I have yet to encounter a bad instructor/LCA - they are all top notch. I'm not particularly a fan of some of the curriculum that is being taught but the method of instruction and knowledge of the instructors is very good.
As to curriculum (and the loss of AQP a while back) speaks to what is evidently wrong throughout the company - leadership/management (or the lack thereof). Too much nepotism, too little resources and too little pay - esp for the LCAs and chief pilots.
If I were another airline (major), I would hire almost exclusively from ULCCs as the candidates are generally younger, have shown the ability to successfully negotiate a major 121 training program, but most important, weaken a company who's real only claim to fame would be growth...
