Hiring Timeline - Pre ATP/CTP Cadet
Thought I would post my hiring timeline for those on the outside looking in. Interviewed 1/19 in MIA, CJO on the spot. 1/25 HR Compliance emailed me instructions for completing background check, fingerprinting, and drug test. I did all those on 1/26 that week. Checked in a week later and found out my drug test paperwork was messed up, so I had to redo it last week 2/2. Emailed with a class date today, 2/8. Feb 22. class.
So about 3 weeks from interview to full CJO/class date. I would imagine interviewing in DEN and not having a nurse mess up your drug test form would speed things up a bit for everyone else...

I'll also share my timeline in case it helps anyone. I'm pre-ATP/CTP and came in through the Cadet Program late in the game with 1500hours flight instructing from another, non ATP Flight school.
6Dec22-ish Interview
8Dec22-ish got a verbal CJO
15Dec22-ish got a call from my new recruiter to schedule compliance, fingerprinting, drug test, logbook verification, etc
4Jan23 - compliance day. Was told that it would take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete background checks
25Jan23 - Checked in with recruiter and was told that compliance actually all came back 6Jan23 and they were just waiting on an ATP/CTP course date from ATP Schools
2Feb23 - Checked in again and was told that they're still working on an ATP/CTP date.
10Feb23 - finally got two emails from ATP Schools Dallas. First one confirmed that I have day one of ATP/CTP on February 24. The second email confirmed that I have day one of something they call "Frontier (F9) Direct" course.
Hopefully that helps you all. I have two questions for anyone who can answer it:
Doesn't Frontier do the Type Rating training in Denver/Aurora after the ATP/CTP or did they outsource that to ATP now too?
What is the Frontier (F9) Direct course? The syllabus is showing only 4 days so this isn't the type rating, right?
Thanks again in advance for your help. :-)

You will get your ATP concurrent with your Type Rating as a part of initial new hire training once you are at Frontier.

Assuming it’s the frontier-specific training. A cadre of our classmates came from that or a similar program. They attended a course through ATP, it sounded like it included ATP-CTP, as well as an A320 type. Including flows, checklists, profiles, same or similar to F9 procedures. I thought they did it all in one course, maybe not. I didn’t hear a lot of specifics about it. I don’t know where they did it, but it was prior to Indoc. I believe it was CTP and a type rating, but not an ATP checkride.

I don’t know exactly what they do in that course but it’s not a type rating. No way you can get a program pilot through a type rating (systems and sim) in 4 days. The ATP and Type Rating are checkride are 99% the same and are done concurrently at the end of sims at Frontier.
