Ok, I’m lost! Someone please explain to me the vsa and realignment situation. I’m under the understanding that we have bid up to October 31st? ATL will not open for PILOTS until at least November 1st? The June class has not be added to the seniority list yet? So what happens to June class on placement? Also what happens to the July class on placement sense they will be done and at a base before November 1st? Why are we bidding so far out to possibly rebid, or am I not seeing this correctly? I thought all new hires had to bid for spots with all of us? Confused in Kentucky.

New hires don’t bid like everyone else. The appropriate system bid is completed, and then the class is told how many openings are left in what bases. Then Ty sets up some sort of survey monkey type thing and the class bids for what’s left. The new hires are just filling in what’s left.

Nope, new hires so not show up on a system bid. They fill in sports after the bid closes or they fill in where the company needs them at the time. Been like that for a long time.

You have to look at FO opening plus the vacancies created by FOs upgrading so let’s say the bid is adding 20 captain and FO spots that’s really 40 FO vacancies.

They don't show up on awards, but I believe the company creates the vacancies on a system bid so we can bid on them first and then unfilled spots are filled in by new hires during a separate process during their training footprint. I think we can expect a system bid to come out with additional vacancies for FOs from the newhire classes.

look at the 2021-04 system bid, there were 34 vacancies. wow, there are 34 new hires in the june class. look at the system bid -05, there are 26 vacancies. holy sh?t there are 26 in the july class! math is confusing man...the bids usually post on the 25th. could it be there will be an -06 bid with the number of new hires in the august class coming out real soon.
if you look at the projected effective date of -05, base transfers are projected in october. could it be that it may happen sooner, or the -06 bid could also be effective in october meaning the atlanta base in october?
as far as the june class, they were told they won't be able to bid until they complete training. this will turn into a huge problem if the july class is awarded seats that the june class has seniority over.
