Frontier Airlines Adds Six New Routes and 100
Looks like Frontier is adding some more service. How much growth has Frontier had over the last year? I know they have a ton of new aircraft on order, but how is that translating into growth in ASM's?
DENVER, Colo. – Today, Frontier Airlines announced the one-hundredth city in the low-fare carrier’s network and the addition of six new routes to its network. The airline will add new, low-fare service to/from Harlingen, Texas with the only non-stop service to Denver and Chicago as well as international service from Las Vegas with non-stop flights to both Cancun and Cabos San Lucas, Mexico. To celebrate these new routes, Frontier is offering special introductory fares as low as $39 available now at FlyFrontier.com.
In addition to low fares for Harlingen being the carrier’s 100th city served, the non-stop flights to Denver mark an important milestone for Denver International Airport (DEN). The addition of Frontier service to Harlingen brings the number of domestic destinations available from DEN to 179, which represents the most domestic routes that any U.S. airport serves. Frontier is proud to help its hometown airport achieve this success.
Additionally, Frontier will introduce new service from Chicago O’Hare with flights to Palm Springs, Calif. and from Philadelphia to Sarasota, Fla. This means Frontier will now offer 31 non-stop destinations to/from Las Vegas, 19 destinations to/from Chicago, 24 destinations to/from Philadelphia, and 2 destinations to/from Sarasota.
“With the addition of this one-hundredth new city to our network, and six new routes, we continue to deliver on our mission to make air travel more affordable for America,” said Barry Biffle, President and CEO, Frontier Airlines. “Frontier allows more people to travel than ever before and we look forward to them having a chance to experience our unique brand of Low Fares Done Right.”

Iahflyr is the same clown that gave us the Warren Buffet speech. We can probably do these routes now because they cancelled a bunch of other routes and also cancelled enough pilots’ vacations to staff them. So glad you pay such close attention to our operation. My guess is you’re trying to “mentor” another sucker into believing that Frontier is a great opportunity because “look at all the new routes”, there must be “tons of growth”. If you love Frontier so much why don’t you work here?
So, if you are on this sight because you’re being mentored by some know it all legacy FO, that tells you to look at Frontier cause someone just posted that there are a ton of new routes just announced,...RUN...AWAY!!!

Spirit management came back to the table almost immediately after they had to admit to investors for the second straight quarter that their growth plans were on hold due to the failure to negotiate a new contract. I think it would have happened 3 months earlier if it wasn't for the system meltdown the company caused in May 2017 with their unflyable schedule that sparked the fake "work action", $40 million in lost revenue in 2 weeks, and at least one riot (FLL) that made the national news. At that point they couldn't back down and admit that they'd caused the meltdown to try to pressure the union and pilots, so they had to sit it out for another quarter. When they returned, the pilots got their ask for salary and a real disability insurance benefit in exchange for PBS.
So basically when management has to admit to the investors that they're going to lose money because of the contract, that's when you'll see movement. Not before. That's one huge drawback to working for a privately held company, there isn't any easy way to find out what the company is telling the investors like there is with SEC filings and investor relations publications for a publicly held and traded company.

We didn’t get our (Spirit pilots) ask for salary. The LTD is very good with the one exception that it offsets any income you make while on disability so if you’ll never fly again you can’t even go get a non flying job to boost income.
