In hindsight, those mainline decisions not only hurt their own career and own progression, but damaged the careers of nearly every pilot to follow. Tens of thousands of pilots got pinned at the regional level doing 50 seat flying at a criminally low wage (in an eternal whipsaw with the plethora of other regionals).

Once scope is out of the bag, how do you ever get it back? And that includes codeshare.
Most lucid, intelligent post ever written here... read it

The timing of these Spirit posters and other first time posters is suspicious to me.

This smells and looks like a carrot, so I’m thinking it’s a carrot. The union was already hard set on industry standard scope but you guys are insane if you think that Scope should be number one on my list of necessary improvements to our contract.

You need an asset worth protecting before you buy the insurance; would it make any sense to have the best car insurance policy money can buy on a Pontiac Aztec? If that thing breaks down in a ditch, just set it on fire and walk away. That’s Frontier, a Pontiac Aztec, we don’t even have a Toyota Corolla here. We’re not asking for a Ferrari contract but I need at least a Premium sedan before I’m sweating the insurance.

If I don’t get proper pay and benefits, Frontier can take this job and shove it. So I don’t need SCOPE SCOPE SCOPE to protect a job with a company that I nor many others will tolerate without proper compensation. Period.
Also an excellent thought

Just because we don’t think it’s fair doesn’t mean the mediator sees it the same way. Unfortunately, I don’t see you getting Alaska pay and scope in this go around. It’s called pattern bargaining, and the pattern has been established.
Spirits AIP would allow this type of codesharing, so theres that.......

Their main investments are airlines. If Frankie had his way, Spirit would have purchased F9 but it was blocked by B.Baldaza; he has admitted this much in an interview. And if they had the spare capital to purchase Frontier at the time, they would have never abandoned their investment in Spirit. Unless Frankie kicks the bucket and Indigo’s strategy changes, I think Frontier is stuck with him and he’ll be reacquainted with Spirit in the next 4-5 years. The guy wants to build a global ULCC powerhouse, that’s his legacy. He has ULCCs in Europe, South America, Mexico, the U.S., and a start-up in Canada. Today’s announcement is the first move to bring their investments together into a network.

Well I guess we shouldn’t be surprised about Indigo buying into WOW, many of us have been pointing out this strategy for some time now.

You mean how Sunwing (of Canada) flies the MKE-CUN for Apple Vacations that Frontier used to operate?
