Frontier Negotiations Discussion
#4381
I’ll admit that after 5 years of hearing all the talk about what our pilot group wanted/expected/deserved (and I agree), I never thought we would just hand over the much lauded pro pilot work rules for a new contract that is clearly not industry standard.
I get that negotiating with Indigo is NOT the same (by any measurement) as dealing with a permanent airline management entity (Bruce York has said that on several occasions recently), and I know “negotiation fatigue” is at “red line” for both the NC and MEC. Something needed to get done.
I just didn’t think we’d sacrifice so much in QOL. The rates are fine imho. But in a mere we will be looking at some regionals like ExpressJet and lamenting what we’ve given up VOLUNTARILY in an economy where Indigo is enjoying RECORD PROFITS for a few shekels. I don’t even care about PBS, even though I believed what I read in the NC updates, and didn’t expect that.
I’m sure I’ll adjust like all my fellow pilots here to this new reality over the next year, but it sure feels like a defeat.

Happy new year all!

You guys have no idea what a negotiation is. Stomp your feet, say you refuse, blame other people. Yup sounds like how a few of you here would have negotiated.

You are correct, negotiations are give and take. So where was the take for this give?

So the biggest chip the company wanted, the one the union said was NOT in play at all, was played. What, pray tell, was the massive return they got for handing it over. Bottom of industry pay? Relaxing of work rules?

Once again, you have a serious problem with comprehension.

And you with reality. Negotiation is 2 ways. You seem to think it’s not. If you want I can get a definition for you? Or is that too complex. Want me to grunt it out for you maybe? Seriously man....
