I’m with you. The only thing I question is where does it say DOS +1 is 3/19? The pay tables show DOS, 3/2/19, 3/2/20 etc... I’m not saying DOS isn’t backdated, but the pay tables don’t necessarily mean that. It could just be an early bump to the next tier with DOS being 01/2019.
Looking fwd to the TA.

If you look at the AIP bullet points, I see the last pay increase on 3/2/23. That would mean the contract is amenable on 3/2/24. Does it not??? Year 2023 will be the 5th year of the contract. If it is in fact back dated to any date in 2018, I would think we would be entitled to pay for that portion of the contract. DOS will be sometime in mid January. From what I got from my discussion with a rep, is that we get a bump on 3/2/19 to keep us closer to Spirit rates. Remember, Spirit is our datum point for contract comparisons. It will not be “industry” average. Just count how many times you here “Spirit" during road shows and QA sessions. We will be the bottom of the bottom when this is all said and done.
Still waiting for all the details though to make a final determination.

The pay steps negotiated for each year do not dictate when the contract is ratified nor when it becomes amendable.

You are correct. I haven’t any idea where people are getting this backdating nonsense from. “Date of Signing” is Date of Signing (DOS). The contract duration is 5 years (until amendable) from DOS. If this group ratifies a contract in mid January of 2019, it won’t be amendable until mid January 2024; and our early opener is 6 months, so mid July 2023 would be the next opportunity for section 6 negotiations (unless there is a JCBA to be negotiated because of a merger or the company finds its way into bankruptcy).

Hope everyone doesn’t read into the full TA, what they want it to say???

No own occupation for LTD is an easy no vote for anyone who is young. How would you like to lose your medical and have to work after 2 years on LTD at walmart as a greeter for the rest of your life? Own occupation fixes that so you can sit at home and play video games until 65. Let someone else be a walmart greeter. How much is that worth to you? IMO a ton! Spirit has it so we should too!
