Absolutely! I’ve always advocated profit sharing. Hell that IS industry standard among the top 3.

It would need to be done smartly. Let's say that for every $50 million the company receives in profit, the pilot group gets an additional 10% of that split pro rata. So, the first $50 million means we share $5 million. If the company profits $150 million, the pilots get 30% or $45 million. You can cap it at 50%. And pilots should get the option to receive their PS via a retirement plan that allows it to be tax deferred (or even free).

Profit sharing should have been our “counter” offer when PBS was introduced last minute.

Can anybody answer this question? For vacation slide with the new AIP do you slide your days prior to bidding or after the bid award comes out? Currently, we slide our days after the bid award. This is a very important question to me being able slide my vacation days after you are awarded your bid/PBS line for the month.

It all depends on the language, which hasn’t been released.

The big issue is when the vacation is placed on the schedule. Obviously, it benefits you most if it is placed on top of your schedule after line construction. Otherwise, it’ll just block trip from being added, which means less trips are dropped and less credit. Again, it all depends on language.

If we have language that puts vacation on after line construction and then we can slide it, we’ve negotiated very well.

The whole reason PBS exists is to avoid conflicts and conflict drops. Your vacation will be put on your schedule and slide prior to line building. You will get two buffer days to put on your schedule on either side as well to “protect days off” after the line is built to guarantee at least 9 days off in a row. Same thing with training days too. How many actual days off you get or if you end up on reserve because you can’t build a line with enough credit depends on your seniority number. Oh yeah, that’s right, if you can’t get enough credit but people junior to you can. PBS will build a line for junior pilots and you will be on reserve by default. Life under PBS can be quite interesting.

In light of this agreement I hear that F9 Alpa is still going to hold industry leading resume reviews and interview prep.

Geez man, are you that dense? My response about attorneys was the one in my post and his post.

Go reread my post that you quoted. You can clearly see I was responding to a post about ALPA attorneys...

Yeah, Angie NEVER speaks about something she doesn’t know. Which airline did she used to hire for? Oh yeah...she was never in the airlines. Unqualified, in my humble opinion.

Do you think as a newbie I’ll still get invited to the DEN employee Christmas party...that’s where I’ll be for training, right...Denver???Great....during ski season, too!!! What’s the training dept number? I’ll call them first thing in the AM and tell them I’m coming. I should probably fax them copies of my passport and certificates, too....maybe I’ll go ahead and fill out a W-4 or whatever it is and send that along with the other stuff. Do you think I’ll get DEN right out of IOE??? I think I’ll bid captain on the 787....hell, they’ll probably just go ahead and make me VP of goddamed flight ops.

I can’t wait to just show up and get started!!! Thanks for the suggestion......who would’ve ever thought it could be this easy to just leave and go somewhere else!!!

I’m gonna go ahead and get off APC now and go on the M&H website and order my new uniform and nifty hat!!! No.......maybe first I should call my girlfriend and tell her! She’s going to be so excited for me!
And that type of response is probably why nobody is calling you.

He's not wrong... most everyone around my seniority has been clamoring to get to UAL for years. Everyone makes it seem like you can waltz in to a major and start class, so I get the sarcasm.
