It’ll take the Union an entire week to assemble the necessary propaganda to launch a full scale sales job.
As they ram this down our throats, please keep in mind how offended you were when you saw the details posted by Mr. Dimpledballs.
Please prepare your rationalization as to why we should be paid LESS than other domestic narrowbody operators. Please consider that the company we work for is MORE profitable than any of the legacies and WN.
Please don’t be impatient and vote in the first offer because you’re scared or because you’d like 30 cents on the dollar in a signing bonus because you’d like to buy a new car or whatever.

I’m betting the details posted so far are pretty accurate.

As someone who works at Spirit please read the details and don’t just look at the $$. I’m constantly surprised by people who are shocked that we can’t do this or that in the new contract. Weather you vote for it or not READ it and don’t look at the money.

It is my understanding that the company will set the rate for first year with some Caviots. It can’t be more than year 2. Once they set it it can’t go down. So based on that I’m going to GUESS mid 60 to low 70ish? It’s the reason for first year going down from our original proposal. It lowered our overall monetary ask (to use in other areas) and we know they are going to have to raise it. Make them pay for it. Waiting patiently for language. Disclaimer, This information is based on a discussion with the NC chairman about a month ago when discussing our new proposed pay rates. No idea if it made it into the soon to be AIP?

Sorry if i'm not quite understanding this. Are you saying, because the company will not be able to lower first year pay in the future it is the reason year 1 will be lower from the original ask of 70? Or is it a combination of that and lowering the ask from first year pay to apply in other areas of the contract?
It’s common for airline unions to let the company dictate what first year pay will be. I think the union mindset is that they’re on probation and it’s not their job to attract new hires and therefore not worth the negotiating capital. I don’t necessarily agree but I’ve been through two contracts with different companies and each time that’s the logic they fed us.
