As far as finishing the month, our proposal dropped that number from 70 to 50. The company agreed in part to (a number less than 70) if it was tied to the DAG. I don't remember if it was worded that way but thats definatly what they want. Its in the blast mail that was put out in April right after those mediated sessions. The actual res side of the dag numbers are contested right now and an arbitrator decision is expected soon. Heard two weeks ago I believe? It was an arbitration of an arbitrators decision if you can believe that. Company wasn't complying with the first decision.

Were really getting to far into the weeds. All I am saying is before I even entertain PBS I need to see how your making up for lost soft time (applying vac and training AFTER my line award) and my ability to fix my schedule. The minimum credit number and weather or not its tied to the DAG is big in determining my ability to fix my schedule.

Sounds even better. A couple questions if you don't mind? how are the minimum of x% of the total credit hours per month that are allowed to be dropped even if the coverage isn't there determined in a month like December? or any other high drop month? seniority? Im not disagreeing with anything you said just trying to understand.
With PBS it would be similar and different. But basically would allow us drops outside the DAG for when you really need something dropped, it would create an ability for pilots to take more time off outside vacation months if they so choose, and there would also be that yearly minimum that must be met by every pilot. In reality most pilots will always work well over 50 hrs a month, but some occasionally may want just 1 trip a month or even zero for personal reasons. This is just an example of 1 way of many that it could be done.

Lets just throw some numbers in to make it a little easier to follow. Lets say 5% can always be dropped. Lets say the domicile has 1000 block hours, which I guess in terms of drops I didn't word things correct before when using credit hours. The company would need it based on block hours. If 5% can always be dropped that means 50 total block hours are allowed to be dropped regardless of DAG or reserve availability. In our current bidding system this is something you would imagine once Daily opens. Basically now that anything that people wanted to drop/swap was taken care of, reliefs picked up the slack, now there is that one trip or turn you really just want to get rid of but cant. Well assuming other pilots haven't already maxed the month out with the 50 hrs dropped then you submit it and it can't be denied. It could even be color coded in open time as lets just say a "blue" drop and if somebody picks that trip up vs. other regular open time then it subtracts from the 50 hrs and allows others to drop into that 5% limit. This limit allows the company some ability to plan for a maximum amount of additional open time. Holiday's obviously would be a concern for the company so if we wanted to have this ability for the other 360 days of the year we could exempt certain holiday drops from this rule.

As far as having the ability to finish the month with zero credit. There are currently ways to do this through the various leaves and some are really not to hard to get. 50 was in our proposal from day one and I've never really had an issue with that. Would I like it to be zero? Of course I would but polling showed it wasn't a priority to the group and I wouldn't want to spend any time or negotiating capital for it. Again its already readily available through a leave. Just to be clear, Im not ok with it staying 70.
