If we fall for this I can’t wait to watch this pbs disaster play out. Senior DEN dudes that would bid top 5% in any other base yet barely bid hard lines in DEN are going to transfer to any of the other junior bases and then cherry-pick, pairing by pairing, the cream trips of that base. Leaving only the trash pairings remaining to build complete dogsh** lines with what’s left. The artificially “senior” guys in base are going to lose their minds.
PBS at the majors was implemented via bankruptcy everytime, sans upstarts that began their operation with pbs. The only exception being nk’s recent PBS concession. NOBODY has approached management and said “Hey we have an idea, how about we implement PBS? We think this would really work out well for us being you pri*ks always look out for our best interests.”
Pat Ryan is one of the worst human beings employed at f9. He’d ******* his own mother (literally not figuratively) if it meant that he’d get a bigger bonus at the end of the year. Everytime we think it can’t get any worse around here f9 finds a way to prove us wrong (think air stairs in Denver during a snowstorm). Wait till that weasel Pat Ryan gets his hands on the parameters controlling how pbs builds our lines. It’s going to be his own personal pornhub and he’ll stop wearing pants in his pathetic little cubicle.
We are absolute fools if we allow this concession in this negotiating environment. The company needs this done. We need to sack up and get what’s ours.

The short note from the NC just said progress. That’s it. Everyone just take a deep breath. We are still likely a long way off from an AIP or TA. Hope I’m wrong, but let’s remember who we are dealing with. Indigo would knock down their own Mom’s just to save one penny. Maybe we are getting somewhere because they ARE NOT filling classes. Funny how people have said this won’t work, but finally we’ve made “progress.” So anyone coming here right now is directly affecting all the pilots that have been fighting for a fair contract. Don’t come here now till dust settles. I would not want a 429xxx scarlet number hanging on me the rest of my career.
As far as calling in sick over your stolen vacation, I did it during one of the past three months. They took my week and I ended up calling in sick. I never heard a peep from the high mins club (chief pilots office) or VP flt ops. The FAR’s requires you to assess your fitness to fly, so don’t let these arrogant pricks bully you into flying when you’re not fit for duty.

I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. You can't "cherry pick" pairings because pairings don't exist under PBS. My experience, it's the senior pilots who suffer, because they are too stuck in their ways to figure out how to bid. Good job trying to troll though.
I don’t know whose PBS you’ve worked under, but this is the opposite of my experience with it. PBS doesn’t build pairings, it builds lines with pairings that were created from an optimizer.
We are supposed to have mutually agreed upon pairing builds, but we don’t. The company found a way to cheat the system and get out of that. Now, P.R. has complete control of the pairing builds, and every month he gets to showcase his disdain for pilots. The ONLY control we have in terms of schedule QOL is the line construction. If we go PBS, save for some iron-clad language the company would likely never agree to, we’d be giving ALL control to P.R.
