I assume that as a pilot group we've made it abundantly clear to the MEC and NC that we don't want it, and they won't bring us a TA with PBS. I trust our guys.

The ridiculous thing about frontier bringing up pref bidding so late in the process is that they already TA'd a bunch of scheduling sections based on line bidding. It's such bad faith negotiations it's hard to believe the NMB is even seriously discussing it

Everyone needs to chill. The negotiations here have been lead by the company. This was always the plan. Negotiate a contract when they need it. This is perfect timing, for them. Mission accomplished. Next year they will be growing, making more money, and they can write off the new pilot contract for a full tax year. Bad deal for us by the way as we will pay a higher tax rate for all of 2019 with almost no back pay for the last two years. But at least higher wages for us finally, haha, shame on us. We WILL have something to sign by the end of the end. I guarantee it. Question is, do you want something great and are willing to wait, or do you want something decent for the next 5 yrs? That’s your only choice.
I believe most of the major airlines are using Pref bid with the exception of SWA.

I fail to see how putting me into a higher tax bracket is a “bad deal” for me. I think most of America would disagree with that one.
As for “decent” now vs waiting for “great” it depends on what you define as decent. We need not discus specifics on an open forum as we already know that the company reads this, but what you consider decent I may consider garbage. One example is PBS. If that’s offered in the final deal, I’ll pass. Also, I don’t expect full back pay but there will be a significant signing bonus or I’m also a no vote.

PBS can be better than line bidding with the right work rules. Personally having used both, I prefer it. Line bidding would also suck without work rules. They are both just softwares that award pairings.
The having only seven days off for vacation thing is a myth, you can still work the system to gain soft pay. It’s actually more pilot friendly when it comes to bidding. Most guys complaining have never used it.

Every other of the part of the contract would have to be so incredibly outstanding for me to vote yes on PBS, that kind of contract is completely unfeasible with this company. And with PBS can you imagine how many grievances we would be stacking up? The company would have their scapegoat every time they need more staffing, “oops it must have been a bidding error,” “if you don’t like it, you can grieve it but you must fly it.”
It would never be the company’s fault, they would always blame it on the contractor that handles the bidding software. And it would be the union’s responsibility to prove that it was the company’s intentional non-compliance with any PBS LOA (attached to the CBA), and good luck with that!
PBS isn’t more efficient because it builds better trips, it just forces its pilots to work harder by stealing their time off, period.

And everybody else chill, PBS this, retro that. Unless I'm missing something the email we received only said that progress had been made and that the MEC will be joining them next week. So how about instead of spreading ideas of what we will and wont accept on a public forum, just keep your mouths shut for now or simply discuss what we have been told without reading to far into it.
For one, I am encouraged that progress has been made. But, because we are talking about indigo, I expect we will still be too far apart on too many issues to bring anything in front of the group. There is still a long fight ahead, but I would love to be wrong,
