With all due respect, I'm seeing a lot of self deception here. To think we are on the verge of release, after reading the company letter and the wording of the NMB's response is borderline delusional.
Look I'm all for being released, but the only hand we had to play wasn't good enough. It's clear the NMB has already pigeonholed us and is waiting for us to realize it. Their ultimate goal is to protect commerce. We aren't commerce, the company is.
And there are 3 sides to this story, what the company shovels to the NMB, what the union shovels to us, and finally what a handful of bureaucrats see as doing their job with the least possible pushback. That's mediation. The NMB screwed us.

My 2 cents........
The NMB is spread thin already. The railroad will need addressed this summer, and the NMB is well aware of that I’m sure. JetBlue has an AIP and is close to wrapping things up MAYBE. Frontier is the last one standing, and taking up resources. The NMB May give management a meeting or 2, but rest assured they will screw it up. B.B. very well may have bought himself a LITTLE bit of time with his letter or MAYBE not. Make no mistake about it, B.B. will need to ******* or get off the pot! I’m convinced the NMB is on to managements bull****. Time is running out either way, and I feel time is on OUR side not Managements. Stay the course folks.

You obviously don’t understand the process. Your comment that “The NMB screwed us” screams emotionalism and lack of knowledge. I understand that we’d all like this over and done but being petulant and excitable will not help the situation. Will the NMB offer binding arbitration? Who knows, but prior to that, there are lots of internal checks that they must perform. Most important is enlisting the DOT in an impact study which shows the ACTUAL ramifications of a potential temporary shut-down. That in itself will invalidate a large chunk of the Co’s assertion that they’re as relevant as they think. But until then, just chill people. It’s out of our union’s hands, it’s out of our hands, and it’s definitely out of the Co’s hands. We have a tremendous amount of support that’s been given to us by the NMB. If you think otherwise, look at our track record with them. Mediation after six months of bullish!t bargaining, countless mandated sessions to reach agreements, new board members that immediately engaged us and now sit in on all sessions, etc. This stuff doesn’t happen overnight and acting like a bunch of spoiled pu$$y millenials does no good. Let the system work. It’s been proven, time and time again, that it does.

Yes, it's been proven. SWA took 4 years, Spirit took 3+, and JetBlue took 3+. All of which management came with a deal. If you think this management group is going to just give in and pay us what we want after 2 years while seeing the NMB passively accept our request makes it perfectly clear you don't comprehend what's going on around you.
