Neither side, at least in our case, would ever accept binding arbitration... that’s how virgin/alaska got ok pay rates and got screwed on scope...

Coincidentally I was just looking at Alaska's rates. Agreed they are "ok" but your post seems to suggest we will do better. Do you think that? I hope you're right, but based on the union communication I'm getting, we will not.

Also: this seems arbitrary, but does apply to me. AS vs NK rates

CA 12 yr: 251 vs 242* (AS $11 or 3.7 % more than NK)

FO 5 yr: 147 vs 128* (AS $19 or 14.8% more than NK)

I hope the F9 FO's at this longevity don't see this kind of disparity too.

*2% 321 override added.

Thank you for educating yourself, seriously. It would be nice if more pilots would do that.
One question- should the mediator offer binding arbitration, are the terms and conditions disclosed to the union and company beforehand? ie Accept this contract with these pay rates/work rules/terms or go to the 30 day release.

Or is it: you will both blindly accept what I have to offer and too bad if either one of you or both don't like it.

If you don’t look up at the scoreboard when you come back after halftime, how would you know how much you need to score?

Use the bad situation as leverage in negotiations.

I believe both parties blindly accept whatever they come up with. Which is why contracts so rarely end up in arbitration. Both sides are scared to accept.

More like the 2 minute warning, and the company has no more timeouts.
