Just curious, who are you directing that at? You do understand how the process works, right? We don’t “get released” we request a proffer and the NMB makes the ultimate decision. Until the NMB decides to proffer the case, we keep meeting and making progress where we can.
Continuing to scream “RELEASE US!!!” like a petulant child does nothing to move the process forward. Maybe the usual suspects on here and facebook could stop *****ing and moaning, get off their asses and volunteer. The MEC continues to beg for volunteers, but you’d rather sit here in the cheap seats and play Monday morning QB. If you have it all figured out, why don’t you reach out to the NMB and get us released, since it is just that easy.

Takes the same amount of energy to call a rep as it does to post on here but people would rather raise their BP than understand the game.

I sent, not one, but two emails to our union to volunteer for six different positions and I didn’t hear a word... not even a thank you for your interest email...

It’s more of a sarcastic and petty cry since it’s clear nobody is listening and it won’t make a difference, even if it’s what many of us want in order to conclude our negotiations. Would you be happier if I said “PROFFER OUR CASE FOR ARBITRATION”?

I’m happy to see NMB request all those necessary for completion to show up. I’m also happy to read ALPA will request proffer if the company doesn’t show up or stalls.
Requesting proffer is a very strategic event. You only get one good shot at it. Request proffer too early and you shoot yourself in the foot. It appears to me in the private conversations ALPA had with the NMB, the Board is receptive for us to request proffer. The end is finally arriving.

Everyone would do well to keep quiet and let the negotiators do their jobs.

Also, is requesting proffer basically asking the NMB to offer binding arbitration to both sides? Wouldn't the NMB think the union would just automatically reject binding arbitration to get to the 30 day cooling off period? Could that be why its taking this long?

As I understand, the NMB has to offer binding arbitration and if one side refuses, it goes to the 30 day cooling off period. Is that the release being discussed?

Thank you for educating yourself, seriously. It would be nice if more pilots would do that.
