Sorry for 7500 your forum. For the record our deal at Spirit is "Low Tier" and lacking to say the least. With no signing "Bone-us" we would never vote for this POS. We have work rules that are great and were sold for well below market rates. ~$50/hr flat rate increase. It's not a raise it's just hard fly much like SWA. Spirit ALPA has purchased the required votes by giving Captains anywhere from 2 to 12 times what an FO is receiving for a signing "Bone-US". The roadshow comments were very disturbing. Telling the pilot group we won't get NMB time because JB and F9. So we should take the deal. The real truth is the demographic shift coming. We wait another 6 to 12 months for a deal and you will have another 350 junior FO's voting. 0 to 6 years seniority will out number the rest of the pilot group ~3 to 1. The below post is from our Spirit post and many agree with the below facts.
ALPA has fixed the below items for the company, the Captains received ~$50/hr raise and 11% DC.
Transition conflicts gone with PBS! Big score for the Company!
Open time due to Vacation drops gone with PBS. Big score!
Open time due to Training drops gone with PBS. Big Score!
Major increase in productivity. PBS!
Section 25 major recovery tool for unwilling pilots. Triple Score for the company!
Less staffing required. PBS! This alone offsets the $50/hr raise.
Spirit is going to make so much money every pilot here needs to take the signing bonus and buy stock. The management team at Spirit has made monster gains in the new Pilot contract, genius. ALPA will be sitting on the side lines for the next 8 years watching all the profit flow to the Executive group and wall street. We got our signing bonus just like the FA! SUCKERS!
ALPA signed off on all those give backs for little or no money.
And this is why I voted NO!

I'm still waiting for the "we will get self help and a new contract by the end of the year." What happened to that....?
Fact is, you seem to speak from a position of authority and expertise, when really it's opinion disguised as expertise. No one really knows whats going to happen, even those at the GO, let alone you.

Also, we will be released to self help or get a new contract by the end of the year! This year. Or next year. Probably.
Kidding aside, you are right that no one knows what will happen. I think (that's think, not know) that our future resides mostly in the hands of the NMB.

The Company’s offer is a complete turd from start to finish. It puts us in last place in just about every category. We are tied for last with Allegiant in pay and retirement.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the NMB will be quick to release us. I see a couple month break and then more meetings. We already know that they found Spirits deal to be reasonable enough to park the pilots. It’s going to be a very long battle!

when we (Spirit) broke off Negotiations in September the NMB was "Shocked" that we refused to put it out for Vote. they have never heard of a group turning down such large raises. NMB doesn't calculate loss of QOL when it comes to Money, lol.
I wish you guys the best of luck it seems Franke & Co are going to really test the limits of both the Pilots & The NMB. Hopefully you guys get what you deserve. Good Luck!

We live in a screwed up world. I just read an article describing how all the public schools in West Virginia are closed because the teachers are on strike. Can you imagine the number of people impacted by such an event?
Yet, our little ****ant 60 airframe airline has to engage in 2+ years of unproductive negotiations and beg/hope government representatives bestow upon us a 30 day cooling off period BEFORE we’re finally granted the opportunity to strike.

I’ve heard the union is due to meet with the NMB this week, yet again, for a status meeting. Let’s see what excuse they come up with this time to continue mediation. After 2 years of negotiations we’re so far apart it is incredible. At this rate it will take another 6 years to get the rates and benefits we proposed when we opened negotiations.
It does appear that the company is finally aware of hiring issues now or in the future. On their proposal they included the language “First year rates are minimums; Company may raise first-year pay to a maximum of
98.5% of second-year rate.” They want to be able to bump the first year pay up and down between the minimum rate and the 2nd year rate, as they see fit for the time. They would literally be able to entice an interview group with second-year rates and then drop it back down to first-year minimum rates when they show up to the first day of class. Don’t like it? Too bad you already quit your last job! They couldn’t pull that off too many times, but watch them try.

That would be nice considering a board member, senior mediator, and our assigned mediator were all present. But I don’t believe they operate that way. It would be like them asking the company to leave and for the union to stay on the last day so they can discuss. I think this is something the union has requested after no progress had been made by the last minute of the last day of the scheduled session. And under normal circumstances I’d say, “everyone that needed to see the company bargaining in bad faith was present at the last session, so we should be in a good position.” Unfortunately I can’t say that because we’re way outside normal, we’re trapped in the backwards political toilet bowl known as Washington D.C.
