Frontier Negotiations Discussion
#1031
PBS is icing on the cake cuz that wasn’t even on the list of negotiating items. We’re not obligated to discuss PBS. Spirit mistakenly had it on theirs and so it was open season. It was another bull dodo session which a board member got to witness.
So ALPA will request a hard deadline, aka profer early next week. Give NMB a month to digest and we are looking at April 1st start of the cool down period.

Not to sound flippant, but where in the he11 does it say only pre determined sections can only be negotiated?
I sat and watched our MEC chair write PBS out in big letters and say the company wants it bad. This was 5 months ago. Nothing about it being off limits whatsoever.

Hmmm... I was told the company did not want PBS and that the mediator had essentially said it was off limits since it was not brought up in negotiations until that point. This was about 2 months ago.

I believe the introduction of PBS by the company is just a delay tactic. The only basis they could pretend to have for it is the Spirit TA. However, we are in different circumstances, and I don't believe this is a serious proposal.
This does seem like bad faith bargaining that hopefully will lead to a increase in pressure by the NMB. It's pretty obvious that we aren't going to reach a mutually acceptable agreement without the NMB forcing the companies hand.

Well hate to tell you but Spirit just did your big dreams inn. If you are at F9 thinking that you are not getting another year of delays followed by a Spirit type contract you are high. Frontier and Spirit in the Mediators eyes are equals. In fact F9 might be smaller in the NMBs eyes.

In addition, our upper management receives compensation that is on par with their legacy contemporaries.
In addition, SWA pilots have proved for many, many years that just because they were an LCC, they didn't have to work for less than their legacy counterparts (and that has been the case going back many years when they were a small airline relative to the legacy majors).
