NJ Schedule Confusion
How exactly does the NJ reserve schedule work?
Are you on reserve for 7 days then off for 7 days?
Is their reserve like a "regional" reserve where you sit around for 11 hours waiting for a trip or is it something else?
If I were on reserve could I just get a crashpad like we do at the regionals?
How long does it usually take (ballpark) until a new hire can hold a regular schedule?
I hear a lot of guys saying that NJ is not commuter friendly..how so?
I live in HOU and would (hypothetically) want DAL; I know it is a commute but it beats going back and forth to ATL.
Thanks Guys.

The reserve schedule here at NJA is a little hard to explain in short but here it goes: you get 4 hard days off a month that you bid for. The company can only have you work for 7 days straight and then you get a min of 4 days off after that. You end up working about 16 days a month. You have to call the company at 6pm to see if your going to work the next day if you have not been briefed. So living away from your base would be hard while on the reserve. To get the 7&7 you have to bid for it, and that availablity is based on the aircraft your on. You could get a crash pad. Living at or near you base will make you life a lot better to enjoy life at NJA.
