Honestly the schedule is the reason I have not applied. I met the DO and CP before they moved around last year -- both seem like very good leaders. I live in an EAS base city, but work out of town 7/7. I'd love to work where I live, but 12 on the road and only home for 3 is a step back. I'd think that all the training costs associated with this retention issue would influence the bean counters.
Get your type. Get some time. Get a real job.
YMMV.

The schedule is horrible and the pay is way below par. But companies like EAS don't have to fix those sort of things. There is always going to be an as& for every seat no matter how crappy that seat is. Throw in a few kool-aid drinkers and it's even better for the company to promote the "improvements" that are ALWAYS just around the corner.

I wish you luck in your career. If you will excuse me.....a gallon of kool-aid awaits me.
