He's staying at his current position but still looking around. He interviewed for FTW 350/90 Captain and was offered 90 Captain. They first told him he didn't have the TT for 350 Captain and they hadn't noticed until after the interview, then later said they actually had filled the 350 position in FTW. It left a bad taste in his mouth about EAS and seemed night and day different from how he described the interview and the people he met.
It seems like he enjoyed the interview, but was a little unsure about the position. All the best to him.

To bad for some confusion or miscommunication during his interview. What was he lacking for the 350 time? TT or other requirements? They don't count sim time towards TT, that has come up a time or two.

Hopefully he can rethink the opportunity wit EAS in the future.

I am still hoping for an interview with EAS, however, I had a phone interview with Cape Air last Monday that went well and they told me to expect a call for an in person interview very soon. If I go and am offered, I am going to take it. It would be as a Captain on a C402 flying the Caribbean as well as living there which would be a blast (flying and personal life) as I have a good bit of time in that region. The company pay and benefits are attractive as well. She told me at the end of the conversation, "L@#$%, you know we don't fly jets, right?". I told her I don't care, I have 10k of that, you can have all of it, I'll just keep the memories! I just like having fun flying, and going to cool places with cool people; of which she replied, then you'll get along great around here!

For the guys in the know at EAS... Is there any talk of improving schedule, pay and benefits? I have heard a wide array from different crews on the road. It appears they hire lower time guys and this is more of a time building job. Any chance EAS could progress into a career type operation or will it always be entry level?

Lots of guys have left a multitude of other gigs to come to EAS.
As for pay, benefits and QOL.
- they just made a change to go to a 10/5 after one has 18 months seniority.
- the pay is on track for seat and type of operation.
- benefits are good IMHO. Low cost per paycheck for health insurance and industry standard match on 401K.
Hope this helps.

Agree with everything RI820 said, with the exception of long term pay. You won't make near what a flex jet/net jets pilot would make in 10 years at EAS.
This may change eventually like everything, but for now it is what it is.

First of all, neither of those two companies are hiring and won't be hiring for a while.
Their pilots will make more simply because of the bigger airframes.
Bigger plane=longer range=more pay.
I am not sure exactly what the NJ 300 pilots are making.
I can guess it is higher than the industry calls for in a 300.
That's when billionaire backing comes in handy.
