EAS announced today that it will move towards a 10/5 schedule effective October 1, 2014. PICs with 18 months service at the company will have the option to swap to the new schedule. SICs and PICs with less than 18 months will stay on the 12/3.
PTB for the 10/5 will go from 21 days per year down to 15, but the overall net days off per year goes up by 43 ( counting PTB)
This is the overall jist of it, there are a few other minor stipulations to accepting the 10/5 schedule but there you have it.
EAS just got a bit better folks, it's still not Southwest or UPS, but it's certainly an improvement and a sign of change in the proper direction.

Fantastic news! I know lots of hard work, planning and efforts have been put in by the pilot group and management to get this through!
I am very happy for the EAS pilot group
As for WN/UPS, EAS will never be those guys and those guys will never be EAS. I know people at both UPS and WN who hate it.
The grass is always greener where you water it!

Before Astro, a crew was together frequently simply because your days off paired up. Now the Astro system apparently keeps together more.
