Default Unpaid Extended Days at XOJet

I spoke with an EXOJet Captain recently. He said that the company announced that the pilots would be required to fly up to five extended days per month without pay.....................

Bummer!

That sucks. I wish there was lots of pilot demand right now so crap like that couldn't get pushed on the profession, but with nowhere to go and thousands of pilots on the street some scum bag management teams take advantage. Good luck XO guys- I hope they stop this crap soon.

..and the reason for this would be?

Considering they work 15 or 16 days out of 28 depending on schedule 5 extra days would be a LOT of extra time, not leaving for much time off. And to do this for no extra compensation?? Somehow I doubt this is the full story. Interesting to hear what the deal really is.

We spoke for quite some time. He said his 8 on 7 off schedule was more often than not a 9 on 5 off. At the time I spoke with him it was a recent announcement that they are now required to work up to 5 extra days per month at for no pay.

He said morale was at an all time low.

Gee, I can't imagine why.

Are you talking about the middle east operation or the domestic part of XOJet?

I'm not a big union guy, never have been, never will be. I show up, do my job with a smile, go home.... But when I hear of this kind non-sense, i'm glad there's one where I work

Yeaaaaaaaah.... I'm gonna wait for the full story myself, too. There's an interesting part that I think he left out.... like for every 5 days you give extra you get an entire rotation (read 8 consecutive days) off. But what do I know, I haven't even started yet.... tell you what, flightbag, I'll get the skinny and report back.....

Let's hope the information the dude gave me was mistaken.

WOW, that's not even close to what is actually going to happen in our new pay system that they are finalizing... The first 5 days per YEAR are unpaid, but you accumulate a merit point for every day you work. Now what the merit points will be worth is yet to be determined...

They were giving you every day that you worked extra off at a later time. And yes if you had 5 or so built up, you could very easily get a whole rotation off. They are also going to pay us for days that we already have in the bank too, or you can still take those days off.

You guys make it sound like we should all be sending in our cards right now... Jeez!

There is a lot to the new pay scale and all the details are still not available. I can attest that morale is not at an all time low... That was about a year and a half ago! Things are still going good, but not perfect.

Too busy to post all the details and really don't care to hear all the criticism. Most people still really like their jobs here! Some are looking to leave, as so are lots of other pilots at other operators.

My 2 cents
