Default NetJets Aircraft Choices

In prior threads not much was said about the Hawker 900xp. Does NJ have any yet? If not when will they? Will it be a different fleet than the 800xp? Is it a good choice if given it?

They are on property now and they are flown by 800XPC pilots. I'm not on the fleet, but it would be one of my highest choices to be on since it doesn't have much baggage space to load and unload and the Hawkers tend to not work too hard or too little- a good balance.

I will second jtf560, the 800XPC/900 would be a great choice. I am not on the fleet, but from my perspective it looks like a nice QOL.

Jtf560 and So Wonwee are right about the HS 125 fleet. Nice QOL, we don't sit around much, but they don't beat the c***p out of us either (for the most part). You'll average anywhere between 350-450 hrs. We do A LOT of 3-4 hour legs, my favorite, not too long, not too short., usually 3 legs per day. Not too much baggage, and comfortable for both pilots and pax. But very, very SENIOR. Flew with a guy, he came from the Ultra, being with the company 6+ years. He said he's the at least F/O 75% of the time.

As far as the 900, great beast. Beautifull machine and it gets the job done. our passenegrs love it, so do we. A couple of minor differences like- it takes an extra 5 seconds to slow it down to 250 during the descent, you might need spd brakes if start slowing below 12,000. On the landing flare, it tends to glide a little longer, so watch out for that.

On a good day, it might be able to do TEB-LAX going W. bound. As far as how many, I think we have 6 on property, 32 to go.....

Haw2wp, are you with NetJets?? I assume you're going into the Hawker fleet??

Thumbs up

I will be in indoc next month and yes I chose the Hawker. What days of the week do your tours start? I'm pretty excited to be coming on board and am surprised that the Hawker was available for a new hire. I would like to thank everyone for the info that you have provided on this board, it has been a big help!

We have four lines- 5 and 12 start on Tuesday, the other 2 start on Saturday. I think I'm on #5, Tuesday start. I like line 5 because I work most holidays and that's an extra $4000 (F/O). The way I look at it, If you work most holidays, and you're able to finagle a few after mid-nights and/or extended days, that's pretty damn close to 15 day flex pay, good enough for me.

As far as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New year's eve, well it varies. In 2006 I had Thanksgiving off. 2007 I came home Christmas day, and was off New year's eve.

Yup, 900XP sounds like a very good fleet to be a part of. Guess it's called the GENTLEMENS airplane.......many pax being businessmen with briefcases.......instead of 17 heavy suitcases.

Heard that new hires were being offered this airplane, buddy of mine starts in it next month.

I assume the NJ 800/900 series have APUs, what about the 400?

The 900 is great. UCLA summed it up pretty well. The interior is nicer too. To the above post, the 400 is the Beechjet 400 and Hawker in name only, and no. No APU. Good luck! You're gonna love it here.

jft560 -

What were your times and background when you got hired?
Congrats on the job!
One thing.... you said "yes I chose the Hawker".
does that mean that you were given a choice or that you were assigned the Hawker fleet as a new guy.
