We have so much flying that sales have been partially suspended and our charter company "Cobalt Air" has been discontinued until further notice. There are multiple daily emails soliciting overtime. It is a safe to say we have more business than we can handle..
Having been at Planesense through the 2009-12 housing bubble I would say that economic downturns affect people in lower economic segments of society. People with money just keep on trucking as normal. Demand may slow, but we will have more business than we can handle for the foreseeable future.

It's important to note who is at the helm of PlaneSense. George Antoniadis is the owner and President/CEO of PlaneSense and has been since the very beginning in 1996. He guided PlaneSense through 9/11, the Great Recession, and the COVID-19 pandemic. I've had the pleasure of meeting and flying with him - as have many "Chronies." He is a strong, smart guiding hand with the experience to keep the operation going through tough times. PlaneSense spends money smartly; it's not cheap by any means but it only spends money where it provides value to the customer. The current price of Jet-A makes the operating costs of the single-engine PC-12 that much more attractive.

There has been a pay change for some FOs. Now when a FO reaches 1200 hours and successful completes an upgrade review they are put on first year Captain pay. When they reach 1500 hours they start upgrade tray, they can bypass one upgrade class l, and when they pass the Captain check ride the first year pay converts to their years of longevity with Plane Sensr

Interview Part 2
The second part of the interview process was great.
Flew to Boston Logan the day before then on a bus up to Portsmouth NH.
Got a ride from the hotel manager to PS HQ - it's 5 mins from the hotel.
After signing in and stowing my bags it was over to the training center for a sim ride.
I got the MissionFit PC12 Sim, and holy **** it's so pitch sensitive. Roll is heavy so it's a tough sim to fly smoothly. They gave me 5 mins to just fly it around to get a feel for it, but I was still overcontrolling it.
Reset for a takeoff to fly a SID - I forgot the airport but the SID had multiple altitude and speed restrictions.
Repositioned for an ILS into TEB. Flew down to mins and went missed right at DA. Sim was paused before I flew the whole missed procedure.
They have an instructor pilot flying right seat that will operate gear, flaps, set bugs and freqs.
Back over to the main building, and it was time for the HR interview. Nothing crazy there, just getting to know you and "tell me about a time when..."
The last part was a company presentation that talked about values, mission, pilot pay, terms etc.
Once wrapped, I got a ride to the bus station to go back to Logan for the flight home.
Got a call 3 days after the interview, and I start training in Portsmouth on July 11.
See you on the line!

Applying as a CFII
Any tips for applying? I’m at about 450 hours right now, multi, CFII, TAA. I have about 30 multi and 80 instrument (10 actual). Working as an instructor. Figured I’d start sending my application in around 500TT and keep updating it. (Knowing that I won’t get a call until at the very least 700). Anything else that can make me competitive? Really like the flexible schedule. Goal is 121 but I’m fine to sit at PS for a while and give them my time as I’m young and I like what I read.

Make sure you have a clean/decent driver’s license history (no history of any/many tickets)

Will they make any exceptions for the residence 2 hours from a base rule? I live 3 hours from the nearest base. I understand they have the 2 hour rule in case you start your shift on standby and they need you to get to the airport rather quickly to catch a flight. It would be no issue for me to remain within 2 hours if that were the case, but not sure if they’re willing to compromise on that requirement.

That’s a bummer. Looks like my only home based options might me WheelsUp or maybe Empire doing FedEx feeder stuff.
