Equally good advice is to log how many tuna fish sandwiches you’ve eaten while in flight.

It won’t get you the job.

Play it safe... if you’re the guy that the company called THE GUY... its your plane... you log PIC. Otherwise, you’ll look like a fool.

We have our share of Richard Heads, no doubt. Also, I'm not exactly "Mr. NetJets", but this is a better place to be in terms of stability, pay, and benefits.
Also, when the chips are really down (ie family emergencies), the usual stupid goes away quickly, and the company will come through for you. I don't know how Flex handles things, but if one of us calls the flight center and says "I have an emergency at home and need to go home NOW", they won't screw around with you and you'll be on the way.
If you want a quick upgrade, NJA aint the place. At least not until the Q-Tips move along and retire. But if I were looking for one place to come and stay and for some crazy reason didn't want to go 121, I'd go NJA over Flex.

I would pick NJA over Flex too, make no mistake. But the crop of NJA pilots that seem to think the airlines are gonna furlough tomorrow, also think a Flex is closing it’s doors tomorrow.

Flex handles personal emergencies very well. I know several guys both new, senior, and Red Label, who've had to get home right away and the company took care of that without hesitation.

Is there any soft pay at flexjet? Looking at the straight forward day rates, it sounds like you have to work close to 200 days as a phenom captain at flex to make similar pay as a FO working 7/7 at netjets.

I’m sure that “Q-tips” somehow means geezers,no spring chicken, myself by the way, LOL, but I have never heard that expression...
What does it mean?

the pay scales for the Lear are the current captain scales for the remaining Lears and the Phenoms. There is no FDP like Netjets, but there is a fuel bonus of up to $4,000 dollars per year based on your fuel burns. Hope that helps.

The first time I heard the comment was in “Me, Myself and Irene” where they referred to a fair skinned, white- haired (albino almost)male as “Q-Tip”.

Pretty sure he’s just throwing shade at the white haired old man....I’m just the translator though
