Typically about a two week company indoc. Followed by a three-ish week Flight Safety course. Figure 2 months from DOH to starting to fly.

The general footprint is 2 weeks of INDOC, minimum of 5 days off, about 25 days for aircraft initial, minimum of 5 days off, usually 2 seven day tours of OE. The are some variables that can extend your time off between events.

Different life than the 121 world, we get limo's, keep all points, get a few first class upgrades, and can write off a ton of tips and get free food etc, much different than the commute and cheap airport food at UAL I felt with, but its all what you want.
You get limos 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you mean you get Uber’s.

Comparing NJA to a really crappy regional or the military (I’m former Navy airwing so settle down), NJA May look favorable. To any GOOD 91/135, or ANNNNNNY major, there is no comparison. I’m more rested, less stressed, happier, making more than a 12 year FO at NJA, as a year 3 121 FO, haven’t fatigued yet, where as I was fatiguing regularly once a tour at NJA.

Bragging about crew meals and keeping hotel points, just shows the narrow mindset you have to have at a place like NJA. If 8,000 dollars a year in healthcare, hotel, and airline compensation is worth 60k a year in total compensation minus per diem or more, for the next 20+ years of a career, than go for it. But please don’t brag about limos and a glam lifestyle working for NJA, anyone who’s worked there knows you’re a glorified bellhop with a pilots license.

I am SO stealing that line.

As for the rest or your points, very true but remember that a lot of pilots are bad at math....

But they’ll get to be very acquainted with cleaning, stocking, de-turding, breathing passenger second hand smoke, moving bags, min rest and a number of other things we all dreamed of in flight school in the frac world.

It’s not a dig against anyone that works at NJA, I worked there. I’m no more than a bus driver now, but I know my place and I don’t try to make it something more than it is. Flying a private jet for NJA doesn’t mean you’re living the private jet lifestyle lol.

That’s a fact. The crapbox hotel that greeted me in London this morning after an 8 hour redeye was proof positive that NetJets still has MILES to go to improve QOL on the road.

The only consolation is the old school pub in which I currently sit, sipping a fine British ale, eating pub grub, and trying to remind myself these are first world problems...

You are making lemonade my friend. Gotta find the positives within the negatives!

You’re not an international pilot until you’ve done the London Pub Crawl and get the tee shirt... literally. Great experience.
