I may be the only one. I'll be CMH based. I live in Cinci, so it'll be a short 2 hr drive. In the mean time though, I'm keeping the fingers crossed for home basing to return sometime sooner rather than later

The Cinci to CMH commute is much shorter than any airline pilot who jumpseats to commute. I have to admit I'm too lazy to drive that far though and chose to suck it up and live in CMH until I get HBA or more desirable (and affordable) choices. I'll be here for a while. Welcome to NJA.

As much as the HBA'd guys swear the domiciles will go away soon, I don't believe them.
Despite the rumors, the company presently has no plans to open any new domiciles...the present domiciles are working quite well. There are plenty of applicants for the five cities and NetJets is saving a few bucks on airline tickets. As the domiciles grow, they'll save more when they can pair people right out of the domiciles. I think, eventually, the company will push for domicile/equipment bidding like the airlines have.
I personally believe the company will put up a real fight to maintain the domiciles in the next contract. The union will be unwilling to spend much negotiating capital on an issue that only really affects the domiciled commuters. The guys who are HBA'd don't care and most of the domiciled guys who have moved to their domicile don't care much either.
Best you could reasonably hope for is a change in the 30% number and that wouldn't be until the new contract is signed...probably 2010, at the earliest.

Welcome aboard and good luck, guys. I think you'll like it. The flying is fun.
Indoc seems a little like sipping from a fire hose, but you'll still have fun.
What are they saying about domiciles in the interviews now?

Thanks for the welcome, I can't wait to get started. Derinda mentioned that they "the company" wanted to open 20 new domiciles but the union said homebasing or nothing. Who knows. I came on board with my eyes open knowing that I'll have to commute. Just part of the job for me. I plan to move to CMH once I make a year.....
